| Canoe Journey to Neah Bay Washington 2010, A Lushootseed Self-Immersion Experience by Zalmai Zahir: Zalmai conducted a sixteen-day Lushootseed self-immersion during the 2010 Canoe Journey to Neah Bay, Washington. For the most part, Zalmai spoke no English for the entire journey. This paper describes the goals and outcomes of the experience. It also proposes activities that can be done on future Canoe Journeys that may help language stabilization and encourage learning.
